We hope you’ve been enjoying our series on our favourite resources for product managers. So far, we’ve discussed our top product management blogs, podcasts and newsletters. Now, we want to turn to another resource some people might not think about—Slack groups.
All of the groups on this list can help you hone your skills or pick up new ones in the product industry. We’ve included groups of all different sizes and specialties, so there’s something for everyone. And the best part? All of these Slack groups are free to join at the time of this writing.
We've launched our own product management Slack community for our clients and the product management community. It's a great place to find other people in the industry and get feedback on your problems and ideas. Plus, we're still relatively small, so it's easier to get one-on-one conversations with people!

Mind the Product has one of the biggest communities of product managers with over 150,000 members worldwide. Their Slack community, launched in 2015, isn’t quite as large at about 30,000 members (and 277 channels!), but it’s still one of the most active Slack communities for product managers.
There are channels for everything related to product management (e.g. job boards, meetups, mentoring and feedback); there’s even a #freshcontent channel for promoting and sharing your latest posts.

Product School’s Slack community has over 60,000 members, and it’s a great way to get advice and feedback from product leaders around the world. They host weekly AMA sessions where you can ask specific questions, or even just pick the brains of product managers from companies like Google, Amazon and Netflix.
Other channels in the community allow you to ask advice and get feedback as well as share your own best practices in product management. You can also find important information on industries like digital marketing, product leadership and UX design as well, all helpful areas for product management.

Product Coalition is the most read product management blog on Medium today with over half a million readers. While this resource alone is incredibly helpful, they also have a Slack community run by Jay Stansell with over 5000 members and seventeen channels. It includes PMs from companies like Square, AMC networks and much more. It’s a great place to discuss experiences in the product industry and exchange tips and ideas for better work. There are also great channels for book recommendations, job postings and much more.

Women in Product’s Slack channel is a great resource for female product managers and professionals who feel left out of a male-dominated industry. It was created by Merci Grace, an investor at Lightspeed Venture Partners and product manager at Slack, when she realized she did not know many other women in the industry and wanted to create her own community to give others support. It’s a unique place for other female PMs to network and share advice and experiences to help each other grow.

Modern Agile is a great community for those interested in Agile methodology or discovering better ways of doing work. It’s a great way to get in touch with other product teams who use agile to improve their workflow and output, including product managers and owners, developers and designers.

As you might guess, Product Marketing Alliance’s Slack community focuses on how to market your product. Product marketing is essential for every product person; every successful product needs to be sold and marketed properly to gain an audience, and this Slack group will help you learn how. It’s a great way to learn how product and marketing strategies can intersect and help build product growth.

Startup Study Group is an amazing resource for everyone from startup founders to venture capitalists to developers and designers. With over 1000 channels and 10,000 members, it’s a solid option for those interested in learning about startups and tech in general and it has something for everyone.

Producter is a product-led growth tool, and their Slack community is for everyone in the product community. It’s a great place to meet other product people and gain insights from them and learn more about standups, product management and productivity among much more. You can ask questions, exchange ideas and experiences, and learn from other leaders in the industry from diverse backgrounds.

Product-Led Growth is a methodology that believes user acquisition, conversion and retention are all driven by the product itself. While Product-Led Growth Institute’s Slack community is fairly new compared to some on this list, it’s the official Slack group dedicated to this methodology. It’s a great place to learn more about how to incorporate these strategies into your work and get tips from those already well-versed in PLG, especially for those in the SaaS field.
