Introducing UserVital's newest feature: Inbox Messages!
While previously feedback has all been submitted as insights in the admin portal, now users can collect feedback as inbox messages first.
What is an Inbox Message in UserVitals?
An inbox message is a message obtained from a customer that contains feedback within it. These messages are either submitted by customers or your team members and oftentimes may include filler details that aren't exactly useful pieces of feedback. Therefore, inbox messages can be viewed as the original message, which after review from your team, can be converted into an insight and organized into a story. To create an insight, users can simply highlight the portion of the inbox message they want to convert, and click on the "Create Insight" button.
Why use Inbox Messages?
The inbox can be considered a place for all feedback coming in from a variety of sources and integrations. Feedback gathered from admins via the Chrome extension, Help Scout, Slack, and other integrations can be sent as either an Inbox Message or Insight. On the other hand, all customer feedback sent via the customer portal will get sent as an inbox message to ensure it can get filtered, labeled, and reviewed first. Based on the messages, teams can create valuable insights which are then assigned to stories.

Users can now view their stories in a gallery view, similar to how it appears in a roadmap.
Previously in the admin portal, stories appeared in list view, with the most recent stories at the top. Now with the gallery view, users can see a visualization of their stories, organized by status. Users can switch between the gallery and list view at any time by clicking the icons found on the top right of the stories page.
The current layout is sorted by Open, Planned, In Progress, Under Review, Completed, and Closed. To update a story's status, users can simply drag and drop stories across the layout.
This gallery view is useful for users who want to access their product roadmap right in the admin portal, rather than heading to the customer portal. Also, this gallery view shows all stories created by your team, unlike the public product roadmap. Therefore, it can act as a detailed internal roadmap for teams to stay updated at all times.
